Aegean Embroidery Workshop by Despina Papadeas / Depy Zepo
Explore the intricate beauty of Aegean embroidery in this hands-on, one-session, 3-hour workshop guided by Despina Papadeas, where participants will learn traditional stitching techniques inspired by the rich textile heritage of the Aegean region. You’ll practice foundational stitches, patterns, and motifs, and discover how to combine color, texture, and repetition to create elegant, handcrafted designs.
Under Despina’s guidance, you’ll create your own small embroidery piece — whether a decorative sampler, a patch, or an accent for a textile project. All materials, including threads, fabric, and needles, are provided, making this workshop accessible for beginners while still engaging for those with prior stitching experience. By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a finished piece and the skills to continue exploring Aegean-inspired embroidery at home.
